A carefully crafted knitwear garment deserves just as much care over time. Here is how to keep your Pasquale Jimmy garments looking like new.
Washing
Hand wash gently or machine wash at low temperatures using a delicate cycle. Do not bleach. Wash the garment inside out to protect the surface of the knit.
Drying
Dry flat, away from direct heat sources and sunlight. Do not hang on a hanger: the weight of the wet garment will deform the shoulders and stretch the knit.
Pilling
Pilling (the small balls of fiber that form with wear) is a natural phenomenon in knitwear, more frequent in blended yarns. Washing the garment separately from rough fabrics (jeans, velcro) reduces the formation of pilling. It can be removed gently with a special knitwear shaver.
Storage
Store sweaters folded, not hung: a hanger will deform the shoulders over time. Store garments in a dry place with a lavender or cedar sachet to keep moths away.
